When we think about ‘Bucket Lists’ or the newly popular ‘Life Lists’ a solid argument can be made for the positive or negative affects on both sides. Is it better to live on the edge and complete these defining moments that will make up your memories, or is it a negative and pessimistic way to look at the short time we have on earth? Is it forcing people to leave this world feeling incomplete or unfulfilled if they do not achieve all 127 items on their ever growing list? Or is it asking people to give of themselves fully? To wholly commit to this life and to accept that this is the only shot we’ve got? To take a moment to appreciate the time we have on this planet to make our mark, live our moment and test ourselves? I might be a little bias, but I am a positivity junkie.
Some think that it is morbid to constantly think about our impending demise, but I think it is enlightening to let go of our inhibitions and allow ourselves to live fully in the moment. I don’t claim to offer an answer to these questions, I only mean to make you think and make you consider the answers for yourself.
I choose to embrace the moments that life hands me, to chase the moments that it doesn’t and to create new moments for myself with the family and friends that I have in my life. With that decision made, I have written my own Life List of things that I would like to achieve or try while I am on this earth. I have no due dates, no time lines and no plans to force me to complete all of the tasks. There are over 300 items on my list. I have accepted that I will probably not do all of those things, and I have allowed myself to constantly add items that I learn about or achieve without even intending too.
I have taken a small portion of my list and shared it below. I chose not to number my list because I do not see one activity has having more or less importance than the other, instead I chose (in true OCD fashion) to categorize and alphabetize.

- Glass Blowing

- Sing a duet in Public

This is a whole separate list that is broken down by age and season which I will share with you at another time, but I felt the need to include it to make you think about this very important addition to your bucket list!
- Bundgeee Jump
- Circus School
- Fly A Plane
- Hot air Balloon
- Race a Camel
- Sky Dive

This is only a short excerpt of the giant list of things I plan to achieve. Some of these items I have already crossed off while others may never happen, but I plan to live each day readying myself for the moment that these opportunities present themselves to me and preparing myself for the strength to say yes, to take the leap, the plunge, the fall…whatever the task may be.
I will test my limits, tiptoe along my breaking point and find myself along the journey. I hope that in sharing my list I have encouraged you to do the same.
Catch you on the flip side,
