Professional chatterbox, a girl with the gift for gab, radio dj. I’ve been called a number of things in my time here on earth but that last one is definitely my favourite! Since last I blogged, a serious advancement has been made on the career front for one Kat Cullen. I am currently working as an on air personality and promotions director for KX 94.7fm, the #1 country radio station in all of Canada and the #1 radio station of any genre in Hamilton. Wow that feels good to say! This has certainly been a dream job in the making and has taken quite a few years of work to get here. I have bounced around the wonderful world of career-land trying to sort out exactly where I wanted to end up. The excellent performers stepped up on the stage in the auditorium to strut their respective stuff. Allow me to take you back to the early 70s.
The representative from Television led off with sights and sounds trumpeting the virtues of the tube. He raved about the coming of age for television. Celebrities such as Walter Cronkite were riding high. Network television was in its prime.
One of the most exciting parts of working in the media and entertainment field is the opportunity to travel. Most of the time I travel for work in television or photography which offers me a chance to see my destination through the lens: one of my favourite perspectives. Recently though, I had the chance to travel for work with the radio station. I set out for Nashville Tennessee (with a few “Friends in low places”) to cover the CMA Fan Fest and the CMT video awards.
